New User Interface Live

We just finished with a fairly major redesign of the user experience. Tell us about any bugs you find at bugs@homepricerecords.com. We put the maps and listings on the same page which people have been telling us they wanted for a long time. The site is live and you can check out the new Real Estate pages now. We also just pushed out some san diego data updates and there should be some updates for las vegas, chicago, and seattle coming soon.

Once again we're focusing on data rather than adding city homepages. Also, it looks like there's a bit of hype floating around about zillow and how we're similar and/or different. The short story is that zillow hasn't officially launched yet, so we don't know for sure. We can say that all the rumors seem to point towards them sharing our belief that real estate information should be so easy to find that everyone just uses it before buying or selling a house. We wish them Luck.

Las Vegas is live

Sorry there haven't been any updates here in a while...we've been really busy with finishing off the Las Vegas data (and holidays and such as well). Once again the data is in the database (searchable on the site), but there is no homepage yet. We're debating whether we'll keep making a new homepage for each market or just import the data in the future (some people have suggested that the homepage model is a little confusing). Also we spoke with a reporter from the LA Times today and are hoping that means a little bit of new press exposure.

San Diego is live

We haven't had time to create a page for the new San Diego real estate data, but it has been added to the LA database. So you should now be able to search in San Diego and the surrounding areas and get results. We're working on Las Vegas, Boston, and maybe DC/Maryland right now. The Chicago real estate site has been updated in the past few days and now has some listings with square feet data (none had them before). We're working on an update in New York and a general improvement in the New York real estate data. Unlike the other sites it isn't really even close to being comprehensive right now (we still think it's at least a little useful though). Thanks for all your support as our site has really taken off since the exposure in the New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle.

Looks like we made it into a Google Maps story in the New York Times. We're pretty happy with all this exposure and for any of you guys hunting around for pr contacts the email is pr@homepricerecords.com. You didn't hear it from us but there actually is some New York and Chicago data in the database (though the cities don't have home pages yet). Thanks for using the site.

We've automated some queries on a city by city basis in the bay area. If it proves useful and people like it we'll probably extend it to the rest of the cities we have data for. Check it out at sfhomesaleprices.

HomePriceRecords.com is a new site devoted to being the easiest place to see the sale prices of homes near yours. We like the idea of a blog for our site and tried out a xanga site, but now kind of looking around at the alternatives. The Home Price Records Xanga Site was the first one, and we haven't decided yet if we'll keep updating that one or use this one.
Anyway, if you hadn't figured it out yet, the home sale prices are here. We've just finished rolling out Los Angeles home sale prices and just almost ready for our press release to go out about it (there's a draft press release on the xanga site). San Francisco home sales were our first market and they're still around too. We should be expanding to other metro areas pretty quick, so check back often to see if yours has made it yet. Thanks
